Some wine shops in NoVa have e-mail lists of their tastings, but they are not quite hip to the blog concept. I aggregate those e-mail messages here to make my life easier. Shops include The Curious Grape in Shirlington,VA and Wide World of Wine in DC. I am in no way affiliated with any of these businesses.

MIKE'S BOTTLE-CONDITIONED BEER TASTING TONIGHT
(Wed, April 29, 6-8 pm)

If you haven't yet checked out April's Beer Of The Month, the Fuller's 1845 Ale, TONIGHT's Bottle-Conditioned Beer tasting is your last chance to take it for a spin before we move on to May's selection.  Stop by tonight, April 29 from 6-8 pm for a special FREE tasting of diverse, bottle-conditioned ales selected by beer geek Mike Eberly.  So what's a bottle-conditioned beer?  While most beer is filtered to remove spent yeast and then carbon dioxide is added for a little spritz, with bottle-conditioning, the beer is bottled with active yeast so that it can undergo refermentation -- creating natural carbonation -- right in the bottle.  The benefit:  the yeast prevents unwanted organisms and deterioration, allowing the beer to age for years, during which it continues to develop.  So you might just say that bottle-conditioned ale is the way beer was meant to be.  Why not stop by and sample:
  • O'Hanlon's Thomas Hardy's Ale, perhaps the most age-worthy of beers
  • North Coast Old Stock, the bourbon whiskey of beer
  • Fuller's 1845 Ale, our April Beer of the Month
  • De Ranke's XX Bitter -- the hoppiest beer in Belgium?
These bold, complex beers are perfect for today's chilly weather!  Of course, you'll enjoy special discounts on the beers being tasted!  Reservations are not required; just plan to stop by between 6 and 8 pm.

DON'T MISS CHAPPELLET'S 94-POINT NAPA CABERNET!

Always on the lookout for a hot tip?  Don't miss the 2006 Chappellet "Signature" Cabernet Sauvignon!  If you follow our email, you already know that, in light of the economy, Chappellet, a producer of time-honored Napa Cabernet, Merlot, and Chardonnay decided to lower the prices on their outstanding Cabernet and Merlot this year.  Perched on the prime real estate of Pritchard Hill on the eastern side of Napa, Chappellet is one of the valley's oldest family-run estates.  The hillside location of their vineyards results in intense, complex reds that were formerly a fair deal, but are downright Napa values at their new, lower prices.  Even better:  As it turns out, the 2006 Signature Cabernet is one of the winery's best ever, and was just awarded 94 points by the Wine Spectator!
"Assertive herb, anise, blackberry and wild berry fruit is tight, firm, tannic and well-structured, picking up depth and length on the finish. Best from 2010 through 2016."  94 Points, Wine Spectator
At just $46.99, the wine is an incredible value!  Plus, quantity discounts apply:

Buy 6 or more bottles and save 5% or buy 12 or more bottles of Chappellet Cabernet and save 15%!

As always, supplies are limited.  If you would like to reserve any of this wine, just give us a call with a credit card number at 703-671-8700.

WORLD-WIDE SAUVIGNON BLANC THURSDAY
(Apr 30, 6-8 pm)

As April glides into May, no doubt you'll be turning to Sauvignon Blanc, one of the world's most refreshing wines, for relief from DC's summer heat.  Mark your calendar now for Thursday's special FREE tasting of Sauvignon Blancs from the world's top regions for the grape, including:

Chardonnay from around the world

Saturday Tasting

Chardonnay from around the world

1-4pm

It's that time of year when we begin looking for whites and Chardonnay is a great place to start as any. We will be showing wines from, France, Oregon, California, New Zealand, Australia.

2006 Domaine Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay The nose is fresh with mineral and fruit notes (citrus and fresh hazelnuts). The initial impression on the palate is lively and bold, followed by pleasurable balance.

2007 Chehalem INOX Oregon Chardonnay A platinum, brilliant wine that immediately shares a profusion of floral aromas and bright fruit, especially pear, green apple, honeydew melon, tangerine, peach, apricot, Meyer lemon, and even kiwi and pineapple. Spice and other aromatic accents include confectioners' sugar, vanilla bean, and ginger, as well as the "Juicy Fruit" gum aromatic that is a marker for Dijon-clone Chardonnay fruit. There is a knife-edged brightness and minerality due to incredibly snappy acidity, making it tartly succulent and mouthwatering. Although high in acid, low in alcohol (13.4%), and bone dry (at less than .25% sugar), this has great weight and near-perfect balance.

2007 Silverado Napa Chardonnay Pale yellow color. Abundant fruit aromas of sweet yellow apple, honeydew melon and ripe citrus. Floral notes highlight the nose while aromas of vanilla and oak stay in the background. On the palate, light and refreshing—even sprightly! Lingering flavors on the finish tempt you back for another sip.

2007 Kumeu River New Zealand Chardonnay This year's Village Chardonnay features very attractive lifted fruit aromas, along with a touch of nuttiness: the hint of hazelnut that is so typical of Chardonnay. The palate also shows a nice peachy ripeness along with a crisp flinty character that gives the wine a refreshing cleansing quality. This wine is perfect to drink with fish and shellfish.

2006 Grant Burge Barossa Chardonnay A bright straw colour with green hues, this wine has delicious varietal peach and melon aromas, along with fresh, ripe grapes and rich buttery notes. These aromas follow through on the palate, which is full and rich from its partial malolactic fermentation, also contributing a soft, creamy mouth-filling texture to the wine. Fresh acidity balances the fullness the wine and brings a flavour of lingering, ripe peaches and green apples

All wines are regularly $19.99 now $17.99

But wait, with every case of white wine you buy between now and Saturday closing, you will receive 4 Riedel Extreme Chardonnay glasses FREE.

2006 Jean Louis Chave Hermitage

Wine Advocate Tasting Notes

2006 Hermitage Rouge  95-98 pts  $199 ea

I tasted through the cuvees of 2006 Hermitage, and the least of them was probably the elegant Peleat, but it was still outstanding. Several of the cuvees, such as Meal, Bessards, and Les Beaumes, were upper 90-point material. This should turn out to be a great, great vintage for their red Hermitage as it reveals the classic cassis, crushed rock, and pepper characteristics along with enormous power, unctuosity, and richness. Licorice and black olive notes are also apparent. This is a dead-ringer for the 1991 Chave Hermitage, which is drinking spectacularly well today.

2006 Hermitage Blanc  94-96 pts  $199 ea

Tasting through the component parts that will go into the 2006 Hermitage blanc, the Peleat, Rocoules, and l'Ermite, this appears to be another outstanding vintage chez Chave. Generally a blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, it is fascinating to see how the different sites, such as Peleat (pure finesse, elegance, and minerality), Rocoules (fat, honeysuckle, and loads of glcyerin), and l'Ermite (a combination of power, concentration, and extraordinary laser-like precision and minerality), combine to produce an amazingly rich, concentrated wine that should turn out to be as good as the blockbuster 2005. I don't think the 2006 has the power and density of the 2005, but it's very close. I would drink either one at any time. It should drink well for 20+ years.

2006 Romanee Conti

Tasting notes from Burghound

Echezeaux  92pts  $369 ea

Here the less expressive but very floral nose is spicier and ever so slightly riper with a range of black and blue fruit aromas nuanced by hints of earth and a touch of the sauvage that is also picked up by the rich, round and notably pure flavors that are more elegant than usual, all wrapped in a textured and punchy finish that is dry in the best sense and comes across as very clean and crisp. I very much like the overall sense of balance and about the only nit is a trace of backend warmth.

Romanee St Vivant  93pts  $859 ea

This is more elegant still but equally restrained as the almost discreet nose runs toward the plum and blue berry side of the fruit spectrum. The floral-infused, structured and very serious flavors culminate in a youthfully austere finish offering huge depth and length with both precision and linearity though there is a trace of dryness to the underlying tannins, which presently compromises the balance just enough where this is not quite at the same level as the very best in the range.

Richebourg  95pts  $859 ea

An extremely pure and equally restrained nose of red berry fruit and a range of spices that include hoisin, soy, clove and a perfumed incense character plus intense floral notes, including rose petal and violets of which glimpses can also be found on the vibrant and very firmly structured full-bodied flavors that culminate in a long, powerful and understated finish of immense length. The character here is completely different than that of the RSV because while the muscle of the RSV is more like that of a world class gymnast, here it is body builder-like without being coarse or inelegant. Most impressive and this is a bit like the GE in that the natural elegance of the '06 vintage has tamed somewhat the inherent tendency for there to be a certain robustness in Richebourg to create a harmonious whole. Now that the wine is in bottle, it struck me as a block of stone from which only the vaguest outlines of the final form of the statue have yet to emerge. Superb potential.

Please call or email with Romanee Conti and Le Montrachet inquiries.

We are expecting all wines to arrive by the end of this week or beginning of next week

CHERYL'S TASTING OF FABULOUS NEW WORLD ARRIVALS TONIGHT!
(Thur, Apr 23, 6-8 pm)

It's going to be a beautiful day (and weekend!) in Shirlington Village!  Why not get out and make the most of it, with a little stroll and a fun, FREE tasting, featuring some of Cheryl's favorite new arrivals from the new world!  Tonight's tasting includes fresh, newly-arrived vintages of longtime favorites, as well as exciting newcomers.  The common thread:  Each of tonight's selections delivers a punch of ripe fruit in a generous, full-flavored style that's typical of new world regions from Australia to Argentina.  Why not stop by and sample:
  • A fresh, lovely, 90-Point, grapefruit-laced New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from what's looking like an excellent vintage in 2008
  • A rich, 91-Point Australian Chardonnay, with flavors of peach, melon, and spice -- that sells for less than $15!
  • The new vintage of one of last year's favorites, a soft, subtle rosé of Pinot Noir from Oregon
  • The new vintage of a ripe, silky Merlot made by superstar Oregon winemaker Ken Wright
  • An all-new Malbec reserva from Argentina's up-and-coming region of Patagonia

As usual, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount on all your favorites.  Or mix up a case of the wines being tasted and take a special discount of 15% off!

A NOTE ABOUT TONIGHT'S TASTING:  We're sorry!  Due to a problem with the distributor, Cheryl's beer tasting planned for tonight had to be postponed.  The tasting will be rescheduled as soon as the beer becomes available.  Watch the email for the new date!

SUPER SOUTH AMERICAN VALUES THIS FRIDAY
(Apr 24, 6-8 pm)

Where can you find some of the world's top values today?  Without a doubt, Chile and Argentina have again risen to the top of the list of world wine values.  Widely regarded as top producers of value wines in the 1990s, South America seemed for a time to be eclipsed by Australia.  Today, the region is roaring back, with a major difference:  Overall quality has improved, with both Chile and Argentina delivering even more quality and character for still-low prices.  Stop by the tasting bar this Friday and see what we mean by value, with a tasting of selections from Chile and Argentina, including:
  • our favorite Sauvignon Blanc value of the year so far, that tastes like a New Zealand white for half the price!
  • one of our fastest-selling Argentina Malbecs, that delivers all of the grape's deep black fruit character and soft, approachable texture for less than ten bucks
  • an exciting new arrival:  the Agua de Piedra Malbec Gran Reserva, a higher end, but still-affordable version of one of our most popular wines
  • a classy, well-balanced Chilean red with real Cabernet Sauvignon character that sells for a song

As usual, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount on the wines being tasted, or mix up a case of the featured wines and enjoy a special discount of 15% off!

KATIE'S HOT TIP!
austrian vineyard
Why is this woman smiling?  Katie's favorite wine from her January trip to Argentine has finally arrived!
So what's the standout wine?  A particularly aromatic white made from Argentina's exotic Torrotnes grape?  A powerhouse Malbec?  Nope.  The surprising favorite of the trip was actually a plush, blackberry and cherry-laced Merlot from Patagonia! Finally, the 2005 Lonko Single Vineyard Merlot, made in Neuquen, Patagonia, has just arrived!  Located to the southeast of Mendoza, in Argentina's rugged southern tip, Patagonia is one of the new and nearly undiscovered wine regions of South America.  Located quite far south by southern hemisphere grape growing standards, the area experiences warm temperatures
during the day, but quite cool nights. These conditions are ideal for slow ripening that makes for the most complex wines.  Although the cool termperature
suggested that Pinot Noir might do best, if the Lonko wines are any indication, Merlot and Malbec rock in Patagonia!  Even better:  As elsewhere in Argentian, the wines offer incredible value, with the star Lonko Merlot selling for just $21.99!  Want to enjoy extra savings while taking it for a spin?  Just mention this email and receive Katie's special HotTip price of $19.99!

Or purchase:

WEDNESDAY IS EARTH DAY AT THE CURIOUS GRAPE!
(Apr 22, 6-8 pm)

Celebrate Earth Day, this Wednesday, April 22 with a special FREE tasting, featuring wines and other products made with organic and sustainable methods.  The wine industry is exploding these days with excellent, top quality wines made using earth-friendly methods, including organic, sustainable, or biodynamic vineyard management techniques.  Additionally, many wineries have been built using "green" techniques that involve low energy usage and use of recycled products.  What's interesting is that many winemakers have long been using environmentally friendly methods in the vineyard, but few people were talking about it until now!  Stop by the tasting bar this Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm and you'll sample an exciting range of international wines, cheeses, and chocolates, all made with organic ingredients.  Of course, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount off your favorite wines!  Reservations are not required for this tasting; just stop by anytime from 6 to 8 pm.

TOP-NOTCH BOUTIQUE AUSTRALIAN WINES FROM KILIKANOON TONIGHT
(Fri, Apr 17, 6-8 pm)

While word on the street is that sales and imports of Australian wines have declined in recent years, wines from some of Australia's best boutique wineries are still well worth seeking out.  Unfortunately, it seems that the parade of "critter" wines, led by the high-visibility success of Yellow Tail, has created a down-market image that has hurt many of Australia's lower-volume, high-quality producers.  Yet the reasons to seek out these down-under gems haven't changed:  South Australia's consistent, Mediterranean climate still allows the region to turn out beautifully ripe, plush reds, especially from the lip-smacking Shiraz grape, year after year.  And the generous southern sun doesn't always mean an over-the-top, in-your-face style. Venerable, quality-minded estates like Kilikanoon temper ripeness with balance to produce an impressive legion of wines, still at affordable prices.  Want to see what we mean?  Stop by the tasting bar tonight, Friday, April 17 for a special FREE tasting of some of our favorite Australian values, including:
  • A gorgeous, limey, dry, 90-Point Riesling -- one of Australia's often-overlooked, star grapes -- perfect for a night like tonight!
  • A super-value, entry-level Shiraz that you can afford to drink for any occasion or no occasion at all
  • A spicy, typically Australian blend of Grenache & Shiraz (90 Points, Wine Advocate)
  • A burley, serious, 93-Point Shiraz, with smoky, meaty notes underlying the rich, blackberry-like fruit

As usual, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount on the wines being tasted, or mix up a case of Kilikanoon and take a special discount of 15% off!

SUPER SOUTH AFRICAN SELECTIONS FROM THIS MONTH'S WINE SPECTATOR THIS SATURDAY
(Apr 18, 1-4 pm)

What's up in South Africa these days?
Like many other Southern Hemisphere producers, South Africa is on a tear.  Featured in a sweeping assessment of recent vintages in the new issue of the Wine Spectator, South Africa is at the top of its game:
"Rapidly improving quality. A large number of value-priced offerings. A diverse range of varieties-from structured Cabernets and vivid Syrahs to enticing Chenin Blancs and crackling Sauvignon Blancs. All these factors combine to make South Africa one of the most attractive emerging wine regions in the world today."
In this economy, these factors would certainly seem to create a recipe for success! Yet, as always, the proof is in the bottle, not the prose.  Want to take some of the Spectator's value selections for a spin?  Stop by the tasting bar THIS Saturday, April 18 from 1 to 4 for a wide ranging tasting of grapes South Africa does best, including:
  • a fresh, floral, unoaked Chardonnay, with flavors of honeysuckle and peach
  • fruity, citrusy, patio white made from Chenin Blanc in one of the world's few places that excel with this grape
  • a velvety, complex, 90-point Merlot with undertones of coffee and mint
  • a licoricey, blackberry scented Syrah

Of course, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount on all your favorites!  Or mix up a case of the featured wines and enjoy a special discount of 15% off!

Classified Bordeaux ready to drink from $19.99 to $29.99

2004 Quinault L'Enclos (St Emilion)                              Regular Price  $39.99         Sale  $19.99

An elegant, pretty Quinault, the 2004 displays a dense ruby/purple color along with a big, rich nose of licorice, black raspberries, cherries, and spice. This blend of 71% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec possesses an excellent texture, beautiful elegance and complexity, and no hard edges. A seamlessly made, supple-textured, evolved, forward effort, it can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years. This is a very strong effort in a challenging vintage.

2004 Clos du Marquis (St Julien)                                    Regular Price  $39.99         Sale  $19.99

One of Bordeaux's top second wines, the 2004 Clos du Marquis exhibits crunchy, juicy, red cherry and currant fruit along with notions of herbs and spice box. Well-made, medium-bodied, elegant, and reminiscent of its bigger sibling, it should age well for 10-15 years.

2004 Clos De L'Oratoire (St Emilion)                              Regular Price  $34.99         Sale  $19.99

I tasted this wine on multiple occasions and some of the samples were more impressive than even this note suggests! Two others were somewhat monolithic, but my instincts suggest the 2004 Clos de l'Oratoire is an outstanding wine. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, it is extremely well-endowed for the vintage. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of espresso roast, chocolate, dried herbs, and plenty of sexy black currant and cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannin as well as an expressive, sensual style, it should drink beautifully for 10-12 years.

2004 Bellevue (St Emilion)                                                Regular Price  $39.99         Sale $19.99

A chalky component to the tannins is somewhat troubling, but otherwise, the 2004 Bellevue possesses impressive credentials. Its dense ruby/purple-hued color is followed by aromas of crushed rocks, sweet cherry and currant fruit, and background new oak. Medium to full-bodied with moderately sharp tannin, but terrific fruit purity, texture, and a real sense of its place of origin, this structured wine is meant for serious connoisseurs. It will need 4-5 years of cellaring, and should last for 15-20.

2004 Bahans Haut Brion (Graves)                                  Regular Price  $49.99         Sale  $29.99

The estate's second wine, the 2004 Bahans-Haut-Brion, possesses a similar character, but is lighter and softer than the Haut Brion, with notes of red and black currants, plum, and earth. Consume it over the next decade.

2004 Pavie Macquin (St Emilion)                                    Regular Price  $49.99         Sale  $29.99

A noble, complex nose of flowers, beef blood, black currants, licorice, and truffles reveals surprising evolution. The full-bodied, powerful wine exhibits stunning concentration, beautiful richness, sweet tannin, and a long finish. A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon (all from a bio-dynamically farmed vineyard), the 2004 Pavie-Macquin is another dazzling success from the brilliant winemaking team of Stephane Derenoncourt and Nicolas Thienpont.

The 2004's  are in stock and ready to go.

The fresh flavors of spring call for equally fresh wines to kick off your celebration, while the bold flavors of Easter ham and lamb call for full-flavored wines that can hold their own with assertive flavors.  Stop by the tasting bar tonight, Friday, April 10 for Cheryl's top picks, which include some of our staff's hands-down favorites at Cheryl's recent portfolio tasting.  You'll sample:
  • A rich, spicy, mouthfilling Pinot Gris from Alsace -- a unanimous staff favorite at our recent tasting
  • A festive, deep pink rosé of Syrah, that's like spring in a glass
  • A lovely, balanced Oregon Pinot Noir, about the most versatile red for your Easter table
  • A silky, 93-Point Italian blend of Sangiovese and Merlot that's Cheryl's go-to lamb wine for the holiday

The wines will be paired with a selection of Easter appetizers and cheeses selected by Katie Park.  Plus, as usual, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount on the wines being tasted, or mix up a case of the featured wines for the holiday and take a special discount of 15%!

 APRIL'S BEER OF THE MONTH!

In 1845, Edgar Allen Poe published "The Raven," Henry David Thoreau moved to Walden Pond, Texas became a US state, the Rubber Band was invented, and John Fuller, Henry Smith, and John Turner joined to form the brewery Fuller Smith & Turner in London. And so began over 150 years of brewing excellence that culminated in our April Beer of the Month, Fuller's 1845 Celebration Ale. Fuller's brewed this special Strong Ale for its anniversary in 1995 and it was so popular that it's been in production ever since! Of course this beer was charmed from the start, with the Prince of Wales adding the hops for the first batch.  An embarrassment of accolades followed: Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Champion for British Bottle-Conditioned Beer, a Beer Advocate A- rating, a 97 score from Beeradvocate.com, and even the British Bottle Institute's  "Best Dressed Bottle" Award (who knew?). One taste of this classy beer and you'll see what all the fuss is about. A Curious Grape staff favorite, the 1845 is the total package with a strength, flavor, and balance that make this beer perhaps the most wonderfully quaffable full-bodied ale you'll ever, well, quaff! Its aromas of nutmeg, raisins, and dried fruit dissolve into delicious flavors of orange peel, clove, and a hint of toffee. But even with all its royal ancestry and highfalutin' tasting notes, the 1845 is really just a terrific ale that will please the lawn mower and the beer snob alike. This is a must-try beer!

Pinot Tasting Tonight (Thur, Apr 9) & A Curious Grape Tip

The Curious Grape
DON'T MISS TONIGHT'S TIMELY TASTING OF PINOT NOIR, PINOT BLANC & PINOT GRIS (Thu, Apr 9, 6-8 pm)!  PLUS:  HERE'S A HOT TIP ON A 91-POINT SPANISH RED AS LOW AS $10.99!

SHADES OF PINOT TONIGHT (Thur, Apr 9, 6-8 pm)  -- What's the most popular grape variety these days?  Judging from the popularity of last week's Oregon wine dinners, Pinot Noir has to be a strong contender!  Initially spurred by the runaway hit Sideways, Pinot has sustained, if not continued to build, its popularity.  But while the red grape seems to get the most attention, Pinot Noir is actually part of an extended family that includes Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, its lighter-skinned cousins.  Want to explore the whole family?  Just stop by the tasting bar TONIGHT, Thursday, April 9 from 6 to 8 pm, for a special FREE tasting featuring a surprising diversity of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir!  You'll sample an impressive line-up, including:
  • A fascinating comparision of rich, lush, non-sparkling Pinot Blanc from Alsace, compared with a festive, affordable sparkler made with the same grape
  • Our best-selling Italian Pinot Grigio year in and year out, featuring suprisingly mouth-filling flavors and a generous, silky texture
  • A terrific value in a 93-Point rosé Champagne made from 90% Pinot Noir
One of the best-value, affordable Pinot Noirs we've found from France's Burgundy region
  • A layered, complex, 92-Point Oregon Pinot Noir made by the winemaker from Argyle, who's now producing Pinot under his own boutique label
Even better:  You'll discover that the Pinot family may be about the most versatile for pairing with a wide variety of dishes, just in time for enhancing your Easter meal!  The wines will be paired with a selection of holiday snacks and cheeses.  Plus, you'll enjoy the tasting bar discount on all your favorites.  Or mix up a case of the wines being tasted and take a special discount of 15%!   Reservations are not required for this tasting.  Just plan to stop by anytime between 6 and 8 pm.

DON'T MISS THIS HOT TIP ON A 91-POINT SPANISH RED!  Always on the lookout for a hot tip?  It doesn't get much hotter than this week's deal on the 2006 Las Rocas Garnacha, a perennial Curious Grape customer favorite!  Las Rocas is made from gnarly old Grenache vines ranging in age from 70 to 100 years old in Calatayud, a little-known but up-and-coming region just south of Rioja.  Located in Spain's arid central section, the region is hot enough to perfectly ripen Garnacha but the high altitude (1500 to 2000 feet) helps moderate the climate and keep the wines fresh.  Las Rocas was a discovery of American importer Eric Solomon, who convinced the local cooperative to bottle some of the wine for him.  Always a steal, the wine is made entirely in stainless steel to reflect Garnacha's pure, spicy, sun-baked character.

"Dark crimson-colored with an alluring nose of spice box, mineral, black cherry, and black raspberry. Smooth-textured, round, and with no hard edges, this tasty effort is designed for immediate gratification. This is one worth buying by the case."  91 Points, Wine Advocate

Terrific with anything that comes off the grill, Garnacha is also just about our top choice to pair with holiday ham, so the Las Rocas is also a fabulous Easter pick.  Plus, for a limited time only, the wine is an even better deal!  Regularly $14.99, the 2006 vintage is now just $12.99!  Want to save even more?  Just mention this email and take advantage of these special discounts:
  • Buy 6 bottles or more for just $11.99
  • Buy 12 bottles or more for just $10.99!

Quantities are limited.  If you'd like to reserve some of this wine at these special discounts, just give us a call with a credit card number at 703-671-8700.
