The 2005 Shiraz "Autograph" spent 17 months in 60% new American oak. The wine is a glass-coating purple with room-filling aromas of cedar, mocha, cocoa, blueberry, and black currant liqueur. This leads to a medium to full-bodied, opulent wine with layers of ripe black and blue fruits, soft tannins, and excellent length. BORDEAUX TASTING RETROSPECTIVE (This Thur, Dec 4, 6-8 pm) -- Are you a fan of big Cabernets or silky, elegant reds?  You won't want to miss this Thursday's special FREE tasting featuring Bordeaux from the fabulous vintages of the last six years.  Year after year since 2000, we've been singing the praises of some of the greatest Bordeaux vintages in history!  2000, 2003 and 2005 were all fabulous vintages in Bordeaux, one of the top places in the world to make Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot-based reds.  Not too shabby themselves, the very respectable 2001 and 2004 vintages were simply overshadowed by their flamboyant decade mates.  So what do you get from a great vintage in Bordeaux?  Ripe, opulent, voluptuous red and purple berry fruit flavors, rich, silky texture, and complex flavors of cedar and tobacco underlying the fruit.  Although plush and approachable now, these wines are also structured enough to age for years.  Want to see what we mean?  Stop by this Thursday for unique opportunity to sample and compare a carefully-selected range of wines spanning the vintages from 2000 through 2005, while also representing Bordeaux's major regions:  left bank, right bank, and Pessac-Leognan.  You'll sample:
